2 min readWith four top winning chances on the eight race program in-form rider Damian Lane is the jockey to follow at Ballarat on Sunday.
Ballarat races Sunday with eight races to be conducted on a good track and Damian Lane shapes as the jockey to follow despite having his book chopped significantly through scratchings.
BEST BET
HAI SUN (Race 7 No 8 – $2.80)
Resumed and impressive winning Caulfield 1200m when last in work then not disgraced at the same circuit. Lightly raced and building a solid record. Will race on the speed and prove the one to beat.
NEXT BEST
SACRED LEGACY (Race 6 No 6 – $4.20)
Consistent of late with close seconds at Kilmore and Ballarat. Will get back but expecting she can get over the top of them at the open expanses of Ballarat.
PALANI (Race 2 No 9 – $5.50)
Second up from a spell when hit the line well in a solid run race at Kilmore last start. Right at his peak here and gets the benefit of Damian Lane aboard. At the odds looks a worthy gamble.
BEST VALUE
DIASONIC (Race 8 No 2 – $12)
Resumed from a spell and shipped up to the Sapphire Coast for an easy ‘kill’ bolting in with a 1400m Class 1. Gets the 2kg claim and rise to 1600m should suit perfectly.
JOCKEY TO FOLLOW – DAMIAN LANE
Coming off the back of a winning day at Flemington on Saturday Damian Lane looks a great bet in the Ballarat jockey’s challenge despite losing a few rides through scratchings. He’s still got four mounts and expecting they’ll all figure prominently, and tipping three on top!
TAYLA’S MOMENT (Race 1 No 10 – $4.40), PALANI (Race 2 No 9 – $5.50), SACRED LEGACY (Race 6 No 6 – $4.20), HAI SUN (Race 7 No 8 – $2.80)
