What channel is Alabama vs. Florida on today? Time, TV schedule for Week 3 SEC football game

No. 1 Alabama will face No. 11 Florida this weekend in “The Swamp, » rematching the 2020 SEC Championship game.

Although the Crimson Tide escaped the Gators with a close 52-46 win before making their run at another national title, Florida coach Dan Mullen is taking a different approach to match Alabama’s electric offense this season.

Since losing Heisman Trophy finalist Kyle Trask to the NFL, along with top receivers Kyle Pitts and Kadarius Toney, Mullen is faced with the challenge of making weapons out of starting quarterback Emory Jones and freshman backup Anthony Richardson. Jones made his starting debut in Week 1, and completed 17 of 27 passes for 113 yards, rushed for 74 yards and totaled one touchdown with two interceptions against Florida Atlantic. He totaled similar numbers in Week 2 against USF and completed 14 of 22 passes for 151 yards, rushed 81 yards, and totaled a touchdown with two interceptions. However, Richardson made his first appearance of the season while alternating with Jones, and threw two touchdowns for 75 yards and 41 yards on just 11 carries.

Early in the fourth quarter of the Gators’ Week 2 matchup, Richardson plowed through the line of scrimmage and rushed into the endzone for an 80-yard score. Just as he passed the one-yard line, Richardson appeared to be limping and later went down clutching his hamstring.  Jones is slated to start against the Crimson Tide, as Richardson confirmed on Monday that he is recovering from an apparent injury.

Alabama has yet to confirm the status of their star linebacker Will Anderson, who suffered a knee injury during their Week 2 matchup against Mercer. Anderson, one of the top pass-rushers in the country, is considered day-to-day according to Alabama coach Nick Saban.

This will be the 11th time Mullen faces the Crimson Tide, and he has yet to earn a victory over the reigning national champions. Although this will be the first test on the road for Bryce Young, Alabama is favored by 14.5 points according to FanDuel
