Robin Lehner expected to miss entire 2022–23 season

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Robin Lehner is expected to miss the 2022–23 NHL season after undergoing hip surgery, the club announced Thursday.
Lehner, 31, posted a 23–17–2 record and a .907 save percentage in 44 games with the Golden Knights during the 2021–22 regular season.
A 6’4″, 250-pound goaltender from Göthenburg, Sweden, Lehner has appeared in 364 career NHL regular-season games over 12 seasons with the Ottawa Senators, Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks, and Golden Knights.
Lehner has a 152–141–49 record, a .917 save percentage, and 17 shutouts in his NHL career. He has won the William M. Jennings Trophy twice, with the 2019 Islanders and the 2021 Golden Knights.
It appears likely that Lehner will spend all of the 2022–23 season on long-term injured reserve. He has three years remaining on his contract, which carries a $5 million annual cap hit.
With Laurent Brossoit’s status also uncertain for the time being, Vegas will potentially run with a tandem of Logan Thompson and Michael Hutchinson to start the year — barring any external additions. Thompson, 25, went 10–5–3 with a .914 save percentage in 19 appearances with the Golden Knights last season.
