result, Jada Taylor 100m sprint try video, score

Teenage New South Wales speedster Jada Taylor stunned experts by sprinting more than 100 metres to clinch a thrilling State of Origin victory.

It was late in the game when Queensland put an attacking kick in, hoping to score a try and get back in the contest following a Blues onslaught.

But the hometown fullback picked up the loose ball on her own dead-ball line, somehow managed to evade defenders to get back in the field of play, and then turned on the jets to burst through a hole.

Several Maroons players took chase, but Taylor sped away and could not be caught as she found her way to the tryline.

« That is remarkable! » Nine commentator Mat Thompson said.

Phil Gould said, « This might be about 109 metres she ran. She did it easy in the end. »

Former Blues star Allana Ferguson was stunned by the effort from Taylor.

« What can’t this woman do? » Ferguson asked.

That piece of Taylor brilliance was the icing on the cake for NSW, who prevailed 22-6 at Leichhardt Oval in front of a big crowd.

It was the Blues who drew early blood in the interstate contest, when centre Andie Robinson burst through a defensive hole to score.

Robinson would go on to score a hat-trick for the night.

But it was her teammate Taylor who took player of the match honours, scoring two tries including her incredible length-of-the-field sprint.

Queensland scored the second try of the night and converted it to hold a lead, but that wouldn’t last long.

The Maroons had a try overturned by the Bunker on the stroke of half time, and could not cross the stripe again.
