College football schedule today: TV channels, start times for every Week 3 top 25 game

Week 2 of the college football season appeared dull ahead of the actual slate of games, but ended up turning out several high-profile upsets. What will Week 3 look like, with three meetings of top-25 teams and the return of several historic rivalries?

The biggest game on the Saturday schedule is No. 1 Alabama at No. 11 Florida; the Gators look like the first real test for Nick Saban, Bryce Young and Co. in their first true road game of the season. The Crimson Tide appear to be in a league of their own after two weeks, but came out flat in what was ultimately a 48-14 win over Mercer. Florida beat USF 42-20 and saw big plays from both quarterbacks Emory Jones (14 for 22 passing, 151 yards, 1 touchdowns, two interceptions; 13 carries, 81 yards, one touchdown) and Anthony Richardson (3 for 3 passing, 152 yards, two touchdowns; four carries, 115 yards, one touchdown).

Coach Dan Mullen said Richardson suffered « hamstring tightness » after an 80-yard touchdown run, adding on Monday he will practice for Alabama. The potential for a two-quarterback system is something Saban will have to prepare for.

The other big matchup is No. 22 Auburn at No. 10 Penn State; the teams are 1-1 all time against each other, with the Nittany Lions taking the first game 43-14 in 1996; Auburn returned the favor in 2003, winning 13-9. Saturday’s meeting — the first in this series to take place in the regular season — could offer either team a marquee nonconference victory as each team aims for a College Football Playoff bid.

The final top-25 matchup is between No. 19 Arizona State and No. 23 BYU, fresh off a victory over Utah. But there are other interesting matchups, including the former Big 12 rivalry between Nebraska and No. 3 Oklahoma and meeting between No. 15 Virginia Tech and West Virginia. Tulane, which scared Oklahoma to start the season, will also take on old SEC rival Ole Miss.

All those games and more on the Week 3 slate. SPorting News has you covered on how to watch all of them:
