Bryce Young exits game with shoulder injury

Crimson Tide fans are holding their collective breaths.

Alabama’s star quarterback Bryce Young exited Saturday’s contest against Arkansas with what head coach Nick Saban confirmed to be an injury to his throwing shoulder.

Young appeared to suffer the injury when he landed hard on his right arm after being tackled near the sidelines. Young stayed in the game after the play but favored his right arm while throwing the ball before giving way to freshman backup Jalen Milroe.

Frustrated, he slammed his helmet before heading to the blue medical tent to be examined. A short time later, Young left the sidelines for the locker room.

« He’s got a shoulder injury. I don’t know the extent of it. I don’t know how bad it is, » Saban said at halftime. « They worked on him inside, so I’ll probably see when we go in. »

Before leaving the game, Young was 7-of-13 on the day for 173 yards, a touchdown pass and an interception.

Heading into Saturday’s contest, Young sported a 68 percent completion percentage throwing for 1,029 yards with 13 touchdown passes and two interceptions through four starts.

After the game, Saban said on the broad cast that Young suffered a « sprained shoulder. »
