Blackhawks give vague answers on why Perry was released

1 min read

The Chicago Blackhawks abruptly pulled veteran Corey Perry from the lineup before their Nov. 22 game against the Columbus Blue Jackets and did not play him in any games after, only saying he would be away from the team due to a personal matter.

On Tuesday, the Blackhawks placed him on waivers for the purposes of terminating his contract for what the team called « conduct that is unacceptable, and in violation of both the terms of his Standard Player’s Contract and the Blackhawks’ internal policies intended to promote professional and safe work environments. »

General manager Kyle Davidson held a press conference on Tuesday afternoon and could not go into much detail.
