Women suing Watson to be featured on ‘Real Sports’

1 min read

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson reportedly met with NFL investigators earlier this week to begin discussions concerning the 22 civil lawsuits he’s facing regarding allegations of sexual misconduct. Watson is currently spending time in the Bahamas with some of his new teammates, but the 26-year-old will soon be in headlines for reasons both he and his new employer would rather avoid.

As Mike Florio explained for Pro Football Talk, multiple women who have made allegations against Watson will be featured on an upcoming edition of HBO’s « Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. » Soledad O’Brien worked as the reporter for the story that will air this coming Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET.

A press release shared by Dan Mennella of Audacy Sports states the women « detail the alleged abuse they suffered and share their reactions to Watson’s record-breaking $230 million contract with the Cleveland Browns. »

Watson has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, and two grand juries decided not to indict him. However, it’s widely believed the NFL will eventually suspend the star signal-caller, and the Browns signed veteran journeyman Jacoby Brissett to serve as their temporary QB1 this fall if necessary.

Former Cleveland starter Baker Mayfield is not expected to play another down for the club regardless of Watson’s status in September and is still looking for a new football home ahead of the Memorial Day holiday.
