NSW Blues star Jake Trbojevic has opened up on how Brad Fittler helped him relax on his return to the State of Origin arena after a « disappointing » game one snub.
Trbojevic, an Origin veteran with 13 appearances, was one of the shock omissions from Fittler’s game one squad, but has been recalled ahead of the do-or-die clash in Perth.
The 28-year-old said he was always ready to do whatever it took to secure a win, but explained that passion can sometimes come with a downside.

« (Football) naturally just stresses me out. I just want to do well and sometimes when things don’t come off it gets the better of me, » he told 9News Sydney.
« That’s the good thing about these camps. You come in here and Freddy makes it a little different.

« Obviously I love wearing this jersey. Whether it be the sky blue or Manly, I’m very passionate about my footy. »
Trbojevic and the rest of the Blues squad will hope to keep their dreams of back-to-back series wins when they take to Optus Stadium for game two of the 2022 State of Origin series on Sunday evening.
