Danica Patrick hasn’t raced in NASCAR since 2018 but has had a presence in the sport the last couple of seasons with her voice, working as a guest analyst for several races during Fox’s broadcast portion of the schedule.
The 41-year-old former driver made her voice heard loud and clear during a post on Instagram on Monday when she surprisingly questioned Martin Truex Jr. for his public statement following the death of longtime partner Sherry Pollex, calling the Joe Gibbs Racing driver’s remarks « cold » and « insensitive. »
Truex issued his statement just hours after it was announced that Pollex, 44, died from cancer after a lengthy battle with the disease. In his remarks, the driver talked about how his former girlfriend made a big difference in the lives of others battling the disease in her work with the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation and her own Sherry Strong Foundation.
