1 min read

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards battled two-time NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant in Saturday’s Game 1 win over the Phoenix Suns and lived to tell the tale. However, he admitted to being mesmerized by KD’s wizardry.

Speaking with reporters after the 120-95 T-Wolves victory, Edwards confessed to briefly becoming « a fan » while watching Durant go to work.

« I was out there like god d— he nice. It was like there was nothing we could do, » Edwards said via the NBA. « KAT was playing great defense. Rudy was playing great defense, and it’s just like he don’t see you. I’m looking at the stat sheet. He was 11-for-17. He missed six shots and had 31. I mean, he’s the greatest to ever do it, man. My hat tips to him. »

Durant led the Suns with 31 points, while Edwards had a game-high 33 points for the Timberwolves. The two stars went toe-to-toe for most of the game, with some trash-talking mixed in. Edwards confirmed that KD was his « favorite player of all time, » calling their battle one of the highlights of his basketball career and life.
