In the speeches of journalists and conductors of the celebration, Mauro Muller and Janaina Castilho emphasized a message of humanity, respect and concern for others. Names of Caio Junior, Gil, Sergio Manoel, Pipe, Denner and Duca were remembered as people who also defended the thigh-white green. The ecumenical service was conducted by Fathers Emerson and João Maria and the Rev. Antônio Jairo Porto Alegre while children from the Coxa School entered the field holding balloons that were released in the wind.
At the exact moment when the ball would roll for the decision of the international competition, at 9:45 pm it was respected one minute of silence in Alto da Glória, and the same children wore the shirts of Chapecoense and Atlético Nacional entered the field, again, holding a light. After that, Couto's lights went out and football witnessed once again that it is able to unite people and mobilize hearts in an indescribable party.
“I am thrilled with this moment of integration and harmony. The lesson that Chapecoense left to Brazil and to the world shows that the rivalry must stay on the field and the friendship between fans and management must exist. May this not be just today, but for the rest of our lives, ”said Coritiba president Rogério Bacellar.
