Sandro Pallaoro was six months ahead of SCCLUBES 'presidency

Sandro Luiz Pallaoro, president of Chapecoense who was in the plane crash in Colombia, was also president of the Association of Professional Football Clubs of Santa Catarina for just over six months (SCCLUBES). The entity published a note talking about Pallaoro's trajectory in command of the association.
He assumed the Presidency after the resignation of Nilton Macedo Machado to the position of president of Avaí. With that decision, Pallaoro, who was SCCLUBES 'deputy, was sworn in. The inauguration ceremony took place on the night of May 9 this year, at the Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina.
Pallaoro was the first representative of a club in the West of Santa Catarina to preside over SCCLUBES, which turns 30 in June 2017. In his inauguration speech Pallaoro was direct. "I want to make it clear that when I exercise the position of president of the Association, I will leave aside the green and white colors of Chapecoense to wear the green, red and white of Santa Catarina," he said.
The president's idea was to implement the management experience he had at Chapecoense in the Association. One of his first actions was to propose to fellow presidents that SCCLUBES should have an Executive Director, a suggestion that was unanimously approved. The post, after selection, was taken over by Cláudio Gomes, in mid-July. The former president supported the creation of the clubs' marketing forum, which met five times this year to create a commercial plan for the 2017 State Championship - unprecedented in the competition's history.
Pallaoro always said that the union of the clubs within the entity had been fundamental for the growth of Santa Catarina football. “It was with her that we had our greatest achievements: the title of the Copa do Brasil in 1991 with the Cricklewood; Figueirense's seven straight years in Serie A; Avaí's sixth place in the 2010 Brasileirão; the four clubs in Serie A in 2015. We will continue to expand our achievements, always looking for new partners ”, promised the president.
Six months after the speech, Santa Catarina was on its way to the most important game in its history: the dispute for the first international title, the Copa Sudamericana, exactly with Chapecoense.
Prhyme to die in office
In the 29 years, the Association has already had 17 presidents, five of whom have died (Valdomiro Schützler, Manoel Simões De Moura, Miroel Wolowsky, João Nilson Zunino and Pallaoro). However, Pallaoro was the first to die during his tenure.
By the Statute, Pallaoro would remain in the presidency until the next SCCLUBES election, scheduled for this month of December. During this period, the Association will be managed by the Executive Director, who will call an assembly for the election of the new Board in December. The inauguration takes place in January next year.
