Paraná Clube pays tribute to Caio Júnior
The air disaster last Monday (28) that killed several members of the delegation of the Chapecoense in Colombia it made the whole world sympathize with the Santa Catarina team. Chape was in the final of the South American Cup and would face Atlético Nacional-COL this Wednesday (30th), in the first game of the decision in Medellín-COL.
Among the passengers who were on the plane that crashed on Colombian soil, was the technician Caio Júnior. The professional commanded the team for some months and was one of those responsible for the feat for the excellent campaign in the South American Cup. Exactly 10 years ago, Caio was a coach for Parana Club, and where he led the team at the time to qualify for the Copa Libertadores da América, for the 5th place won by Tricolor in the Brazilian Championship that year.
Paraná Clube paid tribute to Caio Júnior on its official website and also on social networks. Even in this difficult moment of deep sadness due to the tragic air accident, Tricolor preferred to remember the great moments when Caio was defending the team from Paraná, either as a player, as in 1997, when he was one of the highlights of the team that won the fifth title of Paraná, or as a coach, who helped free Paraná from relegation in 2002, and from qualifying for Libertadores in 2006.
In the final excerpt of the published text, Paraná thanks you for everything Caio Júnior did for the club. “You took us to another level. We have separated since then, but some bonds are never closed. Not definitely. Your name will always be engraved in the gallery of the great champions of blue, red and white. Caio Júnior, for everything you have done, I can only wish your family comfort, in the certainty that you will continue to look after us all, also on a new level. Thank you, Caio Júnior! Thank you friend"!
