Paraná ends season with defeat at home to demoted Tupi
In the last game of the season, Parana failed to make a dignified exit from Serie B 2020. Galo Carijó opened the scoring with Rodrigo Lobão and Marcos Serrato, ex-Paraná, closed the victory in Minas Gerais. Even with the defeat, Tricolor does not lose 15th place in the Serie B, with 41 points, and now only thinks about planning the year 2017.
End of championship monotony
In a game with an atmosphere of a fair, Parana and Tupi played a game without many pretensions. None of the teams had much to lose and who had the first chance was the Mineiro team, with Henrique, who crossed from the right to Rubens, the striker propped for Marcos Serrato to finish with danger, but by the bottom line. Paraná only took some danger in the 12th minute in a free kick from Nadson, who went over the crossbar.
Tricolor returned to reach 20 ′ with Alesson, who lost a big chance after Lucas Taylor crossed. This would be one of the few scoring opportunities in the first half, since until 30 ′ both teams practically took no chances and abused to miss passes making the game quite monotonous.
At 36 ′, Tupi complained about a penalty not given, Henrique lifted the ball in the area and Pitty went up and punched the ball, the referee gave nothing and even applied Renan Teixeira for a yellow card, for complaint. Other than that, the first half was weak, with two teams with little technical quality, and even so, the game went to the goalless interval.
Sad end for Paraná
At the break, the same tone remained. Until the 10 minutes there was practically no game, the plays predominated in balls in depth, but without sequence. Gradually, Tupi began to dominate until, at 15 ′, Henrique crossed the head of Sávio, who hit the crossbar, a scare for Paraná.
Tupi's dominance would not take long to generate concrete results, at 26 ′, again a cross by Henrique, the defender Rodrigo Lobão appeared on his head, tested down and opened the scoring for Galo Carijó. A bucket of cold water in tricolor hopes.
Paraná only reached 33 ′ with Yan Philippe who finished over the goal. But a reaction from Paraná did not even have time to be generated. Tupi extended the score to 38 ′, after a corner kick from Paraná, the team's defense defended the danger and started a counterattack. Vinícius Kiss stepped forward and handed over to Marcos Serrato just move the goalkeeper Hugo. Tupi almost made the third with Giancarlo at 42 ′. In addition, Tupi also sent a ball on the post. In fact, a melancholic championship end for Paraná.
