After some disagreements at the last meeting, Atlético Paranaense e Coritiba communicated at the group meeting on Tuesday (22) that they are out of Premier League. The reason for the clubs is related to the payment of television quotas, where after signing a contract with an open television station, the group changed the predetermined distribution as soon as the League was formed.

Coxa first released the following message on Twitter: "Coritiba informs that it will not compete in the First League Cup in 2017". Then, Alviverde made it official in an official note published on the club's website (check below). Atletico's departure was confirmed in a note released by the Premier League, check out:

“The First League announces that in the General Assembly, held this Tuesday (22) in the greater Belo Horizonte, the affiliated clubs Coritiba and Atlético Paranaense announced their resignation from the entity due to internal disagreements. In these conditions, as of today, the aforementioned clubs are no longer part of the Premier League.

The Premier League will announce in the coming days the teams that will compete in the competition in 2017 as well as the respective dates of the games. ”

With the departure of the pair from Paraná, for the 2017 competition only Paraná Clube is confirmed, now there will be the expectation of who will be the substitutes.

Note released by Coritiba:

The president of Coritiba, Rogério Portugal Bacellar, informed, in the late afternoon of this Tuesday (22), after meeting with representatives of the First League, that Coritiba is no longer part of the group. According to Bacellar, the reason for Coxa's departure was due to the discrepancies in the proposed rules for the sequence of the competition. According to the president, the club was one of the sponsors of this League, held meetings in Curitiba, contacted club and federation officials until it gained strength and representation. The main objective of the project was to do something new, with new ideas, capable of designing new scenarios in the organization of the sport, prospecting a change in the gear of Brazilian football.

However, the League's internal decisions regarding the revenue distribution rules offered by the television station interested in the competition did not please the president of Coritiba and, mainly, go against Coritiba's intentions in the search for a different format of making football. “We left the First League for not agreeing with the proposed rules. We do not accept differentiation and distinction between clubs. We want something that is good for everyone ”, sums up the president alviverde.
