Eliminated from Serie D, Maringá looks to the future

Narrowly missed. The feeling for those who were at Willie Davids Stadium last Sunday (17) was precisely this. O Maringá Futebol Clube well tried. He entered the classified field and ended up eliminated. Even a draw was enough for Zebra against Ituano (SP), depending, of course, on a result combination between Caxias (RS) and Metropolitano (SC). But the outcome was not the best: 1-1 draw at home, with one more player on the field and a penalty missed by Rone Dias, as well as a ball on the crossbar.

The draw that cost Maringá's classification was seen frankly by the coach Indian. He analyzed that the team was eliminated early, because he had found the best football in the last games. "I take responsibility, not least because as commander I escalated the team and I end up taking all the blame, because I escalated, the players are not to blame," he said.

Indio still evaluates that, with the sadness of the fans, he is also sad, knowing the difficulties that the team faced, leaving the competition with his head held high. The coach who came to Maringá as football director said that he will evaluate his stay on the project during the week, since it arrived in Cidade Canção after the partnership of the businessman Adir Leme with the team's President of Honor, Aparecido Domingos Regini, the Zebra.

As in the rest of the year Maringá will be without a calendar, the expectation is that the new hires will arrive at the turn of the year, to dispute the Second Division Paranaense Championship. The year ends as one of the worst in the history of Maringá: relegated in the first division of Paranaense and eliminated in the first phase of Serie D. The fan's hope is that a new project will emerge for the team, mainly valuing the base categories, which do not launch revelations for the main team.
